The Department of Art at Sam Houston State University invites applicants for full-time Assistant Professors of Practice to teach Art History beginning Fall 2022.  We are seeking up to two generalists with the ability to teach art history surveys and other art history courses both face to face and through online platforms. The appointment requires teaching 4 courses per semester in Survey I, Survey II and another area that may include the History of Mexican Art, Modern Art before 1945, Art after 1945, the History of Design, History of Photography, or the History of Animation, Museum and Gallery Practices, or other topics in Contemporary Art. The teaching load is four courses per semester and is a combination of face-to-face courses and online courses taught through Blackboard
