Purchase College, SUNY, seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Art History to teach Museum & Curatorial Studies and the Arts of Africa and/or the African Diaspora, to begin September 1, 2022. The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more aspects of the Arts of Africa and/or the African Diaspora as well as professional experience in curatorial practice, a critical approach to the politics of collection and display, and scholarly dedication to rethinking art historical methodologies and geographies. We especially seek applicants who are prepared to take on a significant role in our MA program’s Museum & Curatorial Studies specialization, teaching courses and developing research, curatorial, and other types of collaborations for students with the Neuberger Museum
