History of the Arts and Visual Cultures of East Asia
The Williams College Art Department invites applications for an assistant professor (tenure track) who specializes in the history of the arts and visual cultures of East Asia. Teaching responsibilities include 2 courses per semester (4 per year), plus a January term every other year. The candidate should be prepared to teach both introductory courses that cover a broad geographical area and chronological expanse, as well as advanced courses. In addition, Williams faculty are expected to advise theses and independent study projects. The Williams Art Department aspires to provide courses that offer geographical and cultural breadth, as well as chronological depth, and supports a variety of viewpoints and methodologies.
