Towson University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Art History with a specialization in Contemporary Art. The successful candidate will join three tenured art history colleagues and several lecturers in the Department of Art + Design, Art History, and Art Education and will be expected to show annual evidence of substantial research, advise majors, serve on faculty committees at the department, college, and university levels, and teach a variety of courses including a global survey and upper-level classes on modern and contemporary art. The candidate may have curatorial opportunities in our University Art Gallery, offer classes in support of an expanding museum studies program, and will be encouraged to engage with v
